Pump, water-path and material decisions will be validated with real samples before performance claims are made.
DESIGNED TO LIVE WITH YOU
LAPCOVE approaches the fountain as both a practical object for cats and a considered ceramic presence within the home.
The first fountain is being developed around everyday use, material character and a quieter visual relationship with contemporary interiors.
EVERYDAY DESIGN PRIORITIES
A small set of practical priorities continues to guide the fountain as the product moves through development.
01
Soft geometry and restrained detailing guide the product direction, so it can sit comfortably within the home.
02
Open access, simpler surfaces and fewer hard-to-reach areas remain design priorities as the product is engineered.
03
Pump, water-path and material decisions will be validated with real samples before performance claims are made.
MATERIAL STORY
Ceramic is approached as a tactile, visually calm and home-integrated material choice — one designed to feel natural in the spaces we share with our cats.
A material with warmth and visual depth, chosen for its calm presence within the home.
Rather than being treated as something to hide away, the fountain is being designed for visible, everyday placement within the home.
Its proportions, glaze and visual weight are being considered alongside the furniture and materials of contemporary interiors.
CARE + MAINTENANCE INTENT
Cleaning and servicing are being considered during development so the everyday maintenance experience can remain as straightforward as the final engineering allows.
The current design direction prioritises open access to the main water-contact areas and simpler surfaces. Final cleaning steps will be confirmed after prototype testing.
Pump access and removal are being considered as part of the internal layout. The final service method will depend on the validated production structure.
A replaceable filtration path is part of the development brief. Final filter format, replacement interval and availability remain to be confirmed.
Care guidance for the ceramic body and glaze will be finalised after material, finish and durability validation. No dishwasher-safe claim is being made at this stage.
